We offer truly unique addiction treatment programs.

The Sivana Bali model is based on a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to alcohol and drug addiction treatment. Our treatment philosophy is based on treating the whole you. Our professional staff are fully qualified in a range of mental health, physical health and well being services.

What Makes Our Drug Addiction Treatment Plans Successful?

The most successful substance abuse programs consider all available information about their patients as a potential inroad for transformation.

Using this information it leverages the experience of a multidisciplinary staff which is able to create a holistic addiction treatment program individualised to the clients needs.

This comprehensive approach is one of the distinguishing features of highly personalised drug addiction treatment programs like Sivana Bali. However, at Sivana Bali, we take it one step further and actually include the client in the goal planning of their recovery so that they take true ownership of the process.

Prior To Admission

Treatment planning begins early on in our admissions review process. Not only will your personal Recovery Coach guide you through the recovery process, they will also be there for you throughout the admissions process, prior to your arrival. This is done to ensure you have a solid, reliable connection to help you, at every step of the way through our program.

We ask both the client and their family to provide information about alcoholism or drug addiction symptoms such as challenges at work, issues with friends or family. With permission, we also refer with previous alcohol and drug addiction treatment providers regarding medical and psychiatric history, treatment methods and progress, as well as stumbling blocks to maintaining recovery. Once the risk and needs assessments have been completed, clients are assigned their own personal Psychologist.

Extensive Assessment

Upon admission every resident undergoes an extensive medical and psychiatric assessment. We then assign a treatment team with several key members who meets individually:

  • Primary Therapist

  • Psychiatrist (MD)

  • Internal Medicine Physician (MD)

  • Recovery Coach

  • Family Therapist

Once settled in at Sivana Bali, the client goes through an extensive assessment process. The information collected is then assessed and shared in the utmost confidentiality with our attending clinical staff, including other therapists and psychiatrists. We utilize our entire clinical staff’s as a knowledge base to formulate a successful alcohol and drug addiction treatment plan for each client’s recovery and aftercare.

Taking Ownership is Critical

From our experience, it is our firm belief that it is absolutely critical for each resident to take full ownership of their treatment and recovery plan from the outset.

Once the addiction treatment plan is formulated, our team’s recommendations are shared with the client in their first care conference.

Our transparent and cooperative approach allows for input into the goals of the treatment and also allows our clients’ to choose several elective elements in their program. The client will then be asked to sign off on their treatment objectives. This conference also sets the stage for ongoing collaboration between the patient and their treatment team throughout the entire stay.

Looking Forward to Recovery

Clients are also encouraged to consult informally as often as needed in order to make certain their recovery needs are being fully supported. If new symptoms arise, the client are provided additional psychological and / or medical evaluation, ensuring their addiction treatment plan considers all relevant aspects.

Confidential, Personalised and Comprehensive Addiction Treatment and Recovery.

Unfortunately, even with modern medicine and extensive research on substance abuse, as of yet there is no cure for alcoholism and drug addiction.

Those in addiction recovery must develop tools they can rely on to continue on successfully whenever triggers of returning to alcohol or drug abuse surface. We assist our clients in recognizing emotional shifts and identify the choices they are making, whether conscious or subconscious, throughout the day.

Truly successful alcohol and drug addiction treatment programs utilize methods proven to enable their patients to constructively experience their emotions. When effectively implemented by qualified staff, clients are able to use these newly found tools to create a life free of substance dependency.

Our compassionate staff equip residents with new tools for coping with situations where they would have turned to alcohol, cocaine, heroin, or other drugs previously. As confidence grows in their ability to make positive, healthy decisions, self-esteem improves, stress and anxiety reduces, and self-awareness increases.

How We Treat Co-Occurring Disorders

Co-occurring disorders are substance addictions compounded by at least one other psychiatric illness, interfering with the recovery process. Co-occurring disorders, also known as dual diagnosis conditions, are major roadblocks for those recovering from alcohol and drug addiction.

Medical and behavioral health professionals addressing substance dependency do not always diagnose and treat these complex conditions appropriately. Researchers have discovered that an overwhelming number of addicts are also personality disorders and/or mental illnesses. Those suffering with a co-occurring disorder most often have more severe symptoms and a greater potential for relapse.

When treating alcohol and drug addiction, the treatment team at Sivana Bali Residential Rehab Centre never presumes the client is suffering from an isolated disease.

Substance abuse is often an attempt to:

  • Manage pain from past injuries or chronic medical conditions.

  • Reduce anxiety or depression intensified by underlying psychiatric conditions.

  • Cope with intense emotions related to unresolved traumas.

Numerous conditions can co-exist with drug and alcohol addiction. They create interference with the user’s efforts to respond to emotions and urges in a healthy way.

Some of the more common co-occurring disorder with addiction are:

  • Depression

  • Bipolar Disorder

  • Chronic Pain

  • Phobias and Compulsions

  • Panic and Anxiety Disorders

  • Eating Disorders

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Personality Disorders

  • Schizophrenia

Attempting to address alcohol abuse or drug addiction by itself, is, at best an incomplete solution for those with co-occurring disorders. In certain cases, addiction treatment without treatment for other existing conditions can severely impede the path to true recovery and a healthy life. Addiction treatment providers must have a comprehensive working knowledge of the diseases and the complex interactions between them to prescribe effective treatments.

Play and Recreation is an Essential Part of Therapy

“Recovery simply needs to be more fun than the old ways, otherwise what is the point to all this”

Scott M., Psychologist

You will look at what play means for you. Clients often need to re-learn to engage in play. There are many activities to engage in here such as surfing, mountain bike riding, hiking, snorkeling etc..

Clients are expected to attend ‘fellowship’ meetings in Bali also. Fellowship meetings such as AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) and NA (Narcotics Anonymous) are free to attend. Sivana Bali is not a religious organization; it is a multi-faith organization. For us, multi-faith can mean literally anything – including atheist or agnostic.
